SCIENCE, Technology and Tertiary Education (MSTTE) Minister Fazal Karim has assumed chairmanship of the Commonwealth Connects Steering Committee (CCSC) for a two-year period at its 25th Meeting which was held in London last Friday at Marlborough House, headquarters of the Commonwealth Secretariat.

The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with India’s leading petroleum university Pandit Deedayal Petroleum University (PDPU) on the official state visit to India by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and a team of Government Ministers and technocrats.

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said yesterday India's largest private company, Reliance, plans to invest $1 billion in Trinidad and Tobago.
The company is looking at setting up an ammonia plant in Trinidad.

Public Administration Minister Rudrawatee Nan Ramgoolam said there is a need for Government's Information Communication Technology (ICT) operation to be decentralised.
Speaking on Friday during the appointment of the National Information and Communication Technology Company (iGovTT) board at the Nalis building in Port of Spain, the Minister warned that ICT needed to make "a big impact on the State's bottom line".
