About us

The National Information and Communication Technology Company Limited, branded iGovTT, was incorporated in July 2009 as a state-owned enterprise to continue the realisation of the National ICT Strategy for transforming Trinidad and Tobago into a knowledge-based economy. Headquartered at Lord Harris Court, 52 Pembroke Street, Port of Spain, the company is arranged into structured teams including core units; Consulting, Operations, Delivery and ttconnect Services. Though new to the competitive business environment, iGovTT’s roots can be traced back as far as 1989 to a number of smaller Government units. Those experiences provide the foundation for the Company’s all inspiring mission: To champion and advance the development of ICT by key stakeholders for the socio-economic transition and development of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Region. The Company is also resolutely guided by its vision: To be the preferred choice for the delivery of innovative and integrative public sector ICT solutions and services. iGovTT therefore acts as the implementation arm of the Ministry of Public Administration in the execution and administration of Government’s enterprise-wide ICT strategies and programmes. To this end, the Company’s core business revolves around ICT Consulting, Procurement, and Project Management services to Ministries, Departments, Divisions and Agencies. It also establishes policies and guidelines to prescribe the integration of Government-wide systems into a common ICT architecture leading to connected Government.

The confidence in iGovTT’s capability to spearhead the digital transformation of Trinidad and Tobago gains much merit from the latest accomplishments under the National ICT Strategy to which the Company, in its former incarnation as the National ICT Centre (NICTC), has championed. Such strides include sustained growth in the local market for mobile telecommunications; a boom in private investments that have resulted in greater affordability of Internet connectivity to end users; and the ongoing deployment of higher bandwidth capacities to support growing demand for Internet usage.

Equally celebrated is the strategic integration of ttconnect into iGovTT’s already impressive portfolio.  The ttconnect programme is a suite of five alternative means for interfacing with Government, with the objectives of bringing government information closer to citizens and making public services significantly more convenient and accessible. ttconnect has already risen to the heights of regional acclaim in copping the World Summit Award (2009) for Best e-Content in the Region and The CTC Project of the Year (2009) from CANTO. Two recently developed ttconnect channels, ttconnect Mobile and ttconnect Express, were also named CANTO’s 2010 Project of the Year.

iGovTT continues to drive initiatives that seek to utilize ICTs as one of the foundations of personal, social and business activities in the region.  This drive will undoubtedly form the cornerstone for the region’s continued development.
